About the role
We’re looking for a Production Leading Hand to support the daily operation of our Mangere production department. In this hands‑on role, you’ll help keep the production line running smoothly by coordinating work schedules, maintaining quality standards, supporting staff, and contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.
This role suits someone with strong organisation skills, a systems‑driven approach, and the confidence to guide and support others in a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Foreman with day‑to‑day production line operations.
  • Follow weekly production schedules and plan ahead to ensure parts and materials are ready for upcoming work.
  • Liaise with other departments to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Monitor and recommend overtime requirements when needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of quality systems (ISO9001 level).
  • Ensure only quality‑approved work enters, moves through, and leaves the department.
  • Develop work instructions, samples, and carry out periodic quality checks.
  • Assist with staffing requirements, including recruitment, induction, and balancing team levels.
  • Train staff on correct techniques and update training progress charts annually.
  • Promote and maintain safe work practices, report hazards, and ensure proper use of safety equipment.
  • Keep machinery and the department clean, safe, and well‑maintained.
