Reinforcing Steel Fabricator / Bender – Lower Hutt

OneStaff Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading New Zealand reinforcing steel manufacturer to recruit a Reinforcing Steel Fabricator / Bender to join their growing Lower Hutt team.

Due to continued growth and increased workloads, our client is looking for a motivated and reliable individual who is keen to build a long-term career within the steel fabrication and construction industry.

This is a hands-on position working within a modern manufacturing facility, fabricating and bending reinforcing steel for a wide range of commercial and residential construction projects.

While previous experience in reinforcing steel fabrication is highly regarded, we are also interested in candidates from similar trades such as structural steel, fitting and turning, fabrication, engineering, or CNC machine operation. Full training will be provided to the right person with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

You will receive training and experience operating a variety of equipment, including:

• Small and large automated bending machinery
• Shearline equipment
• Automated double-ended benders
• Manual bending machines

• Previous experience in reinforcing steel, fabrication, engineering, CNC operation, or a similar trade is advantageous
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Good numeracy and communication skills
• Physically fit and capable of being on your feet throughout the day, including some manual lifting
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
• Flexible with working hours and willing to work additional hours when required
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
